Identification and Fine Mapping of a Quantitative Trait Locus Controlling the Total Flower and Pod Numbers in Soybean

چکیده
Total flower and pod numbers (TFPN) effective per plant (PNPP) are among the most important agronomic traits for soybean production. However, underlying genetic mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we constructed a recombinant inbred line population derived from cross between JY73 (high TFPN) TJSLH (low to map loci two traits. total, six QTL TFPN five PNPP were identified, which on chromosome 4, named qFPN4, explained 9.2% 9.6% of phenotypic variation PNPP, respectively. Analysis residual heterozygous lines qFPN4 indicated that or was controlled by single dominant gene at locus delimited into ~2.62 Mb interval tightly linked an Indel marker C1-5. This mapping result further confirmed bulked segregant analysis (BSA) near isogenic lines. The genome-sequencing-based BSA also identified eight candidate genes carrying nonsynonymous SNPs and/or Indels; genes, Glyma.04G176600 Glyma.04G178900, nominated as promising based additional expression function analysis. These results improve our understanding indicate potential yield improvement.

Mapping and use of QTLs controlling pod dehiscence in soybean
While the cultivated soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr., is more recalcitrant to pod dehiscence (shattering-resistant) than wild soybean, Glycine soja Sieb. & Zucc., there is also significant genetic variation in shattering resistance among cultivated soybean cultivars. To reveal the genetic basis and develop DNA markers for pod dehiscence, several research groups have conducted quantitative trait...

متن کاملCombined Expression Trait Correlations and Expression Quantitative Trait Locus Mapping
Coordinated regulation of gene expression levels across a series of experimental conditions provides valuable information about the functions of correlated transcripts. The consideration of gene expression correlation over a time or tissue dimension has proved valuable in predicting gene function. Here, we consider correlations over a genetic dimension. In addition to identifying coregulated ge...
متن کاملAdvances in Quantitative Trait Locus Mapping
The mapping of loci underlying variation in quantitative traits is proving to be a powerful tool in genetic studies of animals and other organisms. Quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping in crosses between genetically diverse lines has shown the presence of many QTL, as similarly have studies within livestock populations. Although much remains to be done with this type of analysis, higher resol...
